is the statement of reasons the same as the medical report?

Hi just want to check this as I requested the statement of reasons and was sent the medical report and was wondering if that was what you get when you ask for the SOR or is the SOR a different document.
well today was a complete waste of make up

SOR is different.. the medical report is from ATOS Healthcare... although supplied as a copy to you by DWP. The Statement of reasons... I have seen conflicting advice as to the provision of that currently... some saying it is supplied automatically if you fail the WCA, some saying you need to request it and some saying it is the decision letter itself. It should be a document that gives the details of the decision and evidence used to make it.

To clarify... the ATOS medical report (ESA85.. or ESA85A if not a face to face medical) is technically just a piece of evidence for the DWP to make a determination regarding the Work Capability Assessment... in effect though it is often 'rubber stamped'.

Hopefully someone will know precisely the format and provision of the SOR... I suspect you'll get better advice here than from DWP agents. When I called asking for SOR regarding my Support Gp reassessment they said I automatically would get it... I certainly haven't... they also said I'd get my decision letter... I got a letter saying the rates were changing..lol. It may be helpful if you state what decision was given... failed the WCA, WRAG or Support Group as that may impact the advice.

Ah ok cause I got the medical report not the SOR so until I receive that my 14 days don't start do they, I think I should make a phone call then requesting the SOR not the medical report as they are different document. Thanks for that Muttley.
