Capital B Please Martin

Martin

You've fallen for one of the most common mistakes people make when quoting bits and bytes.

In your article on broadband suppliers, you are quoting bytes in words. Yet the Mb and Gb you quote are megabits and gigabits. It should read MB and GB

Many providers now base their charges on the volume of data used. This is measured in Megabytes, Mb, or Gigabytes, Gb (1,000 Mb)

Bytes are represented by a capital B. Bits are represented by a lower case b.

1MB=8Mb (1megabyte=8megabits)

Broadband speed is always quoted in bits (Kbps, Mbps)
Download limits are always quoted in bytes (GB)
