Barclaycard transfers to current account

Just out of interest really, I don't want to make use of the facility but I was just wondering - does anyone have offers on Barclaycard to transfer to current account? I have a constant 6 month 0% offer for balance transfers from another card, and I have about £4000 available credit of a £6,500 limit.

Does anyone perhaps know why the transfers to current account aren't offered to me?

  • Perhaps because you owe £2500 on the account already?
  • I don't think that Barclaycard offer that facility. I've asked them before. I know you can do it with Virgin if that helps.

Maybe, though the £2500 is a 0% offer and when the card was cleared for a few months, the 'transfer to current account' offer didn't change.

Doubt I'll ever know, just one of those things that has been bugging me!

Ok. They should remove the feature from their website if that is the case!

I get the usual 12 month 0% deals but a few months did have an offer to transfer to my bank account with a lovely interest rate of 12.9%.
After thinking about it for less than 1 second I declined their kind offer.

Thanks - nice to know I'm not missing anything then!

  • I have been a Barclaycard holder for about 9 years or so and have never been offered this facility, it is on the website to be able to transfer funds to your current account but you will pay through the nose for it..

If I was so inclined I would go for the mbna promo rates of 0% and 2.9% fee for 1 year to my bank account that is available for existing customers.
