EDF gas meter number
Hi - I moved into a purpose built flat 6 months ago. My gas bills have been as I would expect for actual readings.
However I notice the number on the gas meter is not the same meter number stated on the bill, it's similar.
The meters in the grounds all have brown flaps over them with each flat number on them. I checked a few of the other flat no's meter numbers & none are the meter number on the gas bill (in case anyone had swapped the flaps!).
Is this something I should be worried about? Do EDF use a combination of no's on the bill maybe? The meter is from 1997.
Thanks for any tips, should I be worried

if you are referring to the meter serial number has your meter been changed at any time ? either way you need to raise with supplier and possibley request a visit from them to confirm meter detailsI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

It may be that your bill has more numbers but the middle of the numbers are in the correct order on your meter. I have seen this before. If you are worried contact your supplier.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

It maybe a partial serial number, think how many consumers have gas meters, the space to put a serial number and how many numbers are required.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

on my EDF gas bill they are just showing the last three digits of the meter serial number preceded by four zero s, after the words-gas meter number. If yours is the same and they are not matching the last three digits of your meter I would enquire a little deeper just to make sure you are reading the correct meter,or if the meter has been changed0

But does the reading on the bill match to your meter and not the others? If so, your consumption seems OK. The supplier could easily confirm the meter number held in their records and the distribution side.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
