Hi all,
Any help would be appreciated.
I switched to npower on 5th September 2011 and got the following lovely e-mail.
To date (12th April 2012) I still do not have an account number.
I moved out of my flat on 27th February.
I cannot claim my deposit back (£700) from this flat until I prove I have settled all my bills (which is reasonable)
I have not had a first or final bill. They have my joining meter readings and final meter readings as well.
I also know there will be a bill at some point but I cannot budget for this as I have no idea how much it will be! Also I had to borrow money to move house on a new deposit and I am paying interest on this!
I recently have entered a complaint but they don't seem to be moving very quickly with that either...I have been calm and patient but to be honest I have had enough as it is a joke now.
any advice? happy to supply more info if needed
and also what realistically can I expect in compensation?
thanks
JB

Thank you for switching your energy supply online to npower. We will now start processing your contract and post you a copy for your records.
What happens next?
Within 7-10 days -- we'll send you a copy of your contract containing the details you have provided online, along with our Terms and Conditions. Remember, you do not need to contact your current supplier to tell them that you are switching to npower, as we will do this for you.
Within a further 25 days -- we'll write to confirm your start date with us and ask you to send us a meter reading. (We will tell you at that time how to do this.) This reading will be sent to your existing supplier enabling them to send you your final bill. They may try to persuade you to stay with them - please call us first on 0845 6060646* if you have any concerns about switching to npower. Please don't stop your payments to your current supplier until you have paid their final bill - they can object to your transfer to npower if you owe them money.
Within a further 11 days -- you'll start to receive your energy supply from npower and should receive your first bill within 3 months. Once you're an npower customer, you can send us a meter reading, get energy efficiency advice, ask our customer service department a question
Please note customers registering for our Sign Online tariff should manage their account online.
Thank you again for switching to npower - we're looking forward to having you as a customer!

The next thing for you to do is calculate your own bill.
You have your tariff name/deal hence the rates, so deduct your start readings from the closing ones and try to apportion it with the top/bottom block rates for your tariff. Gas is harder as the blocks can change more often but it will be on their website. So, its just a matter of multiplying some figures over some %'s for blocks.
A change of supply taking a while is a sign off backlogs or possible data problems. Data problems could even be your previous suppliers fault so worth keeping an open mind about it.
Aside from the complaint you can go to the ombudsman after 8 weeks. Until then, you can only keep chasing them up.
Compo wise, most likely £25-50 for a gesture of goodwill but you need to put your interest issues in your complaint and see if they will cover them.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
