Where do I stand - groupon experience voucher, weather dependant

Hi all, time to ask for some advice.

At Christmas I bought an experience voucher for £95 on my credit card for a two day flying experience, the voucher was advertised as "available every weekend in 2012" (in the UK). I went to book it in Jan, and only a few weekends were available through the entire year.

Unfortunately due to the bad weather this has been cancelled and there is only one weekend available towards the end of 2012. The voucher expires at the end of 2012.

I'm now concerned that date will be cancelled, and I will never be able to redeem my voucher. Also, the experience was not available every weekend through 2012 (in the UK).

So where do I stand? If it is rained off later this year, can I still claim off my credit card if they refuse a refund (approx ten months since purchase)?

Other mid week dates are available in the next few weeks, and mid week dates towards the end of the year, but I cannot get time off work. The course is run in Europe through late spring and all summer, but I can't afford a holiday just to do a two day experience.

I don't want to mention the company, as I know a business like this is difficult to run due to the weather and I want to give them an opportunity to offer a weekend date as advertised. However, where do I stand?

Also, some friends bought the same experience but paid by pre-paid gift voucher card (not sure which one).

Thanks.

I have ha a few issues with groupon venders and I must say groupon customer service is amazing, give them a phone or an email explaining the situation and that there is little no availability and that you have already been cancelled on and there should be no problem getting a credit to your account possibly not money back but credit is valid for 12 months and better than worrying about weather etc

    Hope that helps

When Groupon got their wrists slapped by the OFT recently one of the particular issues highlighted was the time-dependent nature of various vouchers and that it was sometimes impossible for the consumer to take advantage of their purchase in a reasonable timescale.

If you can't get a suitable date, ask for a refund from Groupon. Be specific in your complaint about the prohibitive nature of time-dependent vouchers. They've been told off for this and should act accordingly.
