You will have to find out the type of hardware your wi-fi card is and get a driver. Windows finds many but there's a few it can't.

    See: http://www.adventsupport.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6742

Also look inside Device Manager to see if there's an error there.

A simple option may be to get a wi-fi dongle That would also be good for emergencies too or so you can relax whilst sorting out things. Examples http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004CJBHHU or http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004S7WTJQ

The driver is the best route though and keep a copy of it (and the name of it).

Just a few questions to see if I can help...

    1. Are you able to see any network names (e.g yours or a neighbours)?
    2. Do you have a hardware switch for the wifi? (sometimes a slide-switch or a function key such as Fn+F3 it may have a wireless logo on)
    3. Did it work before you reset it to default?
    4. type your network password out in Notepad or Word and make sure the keyboard is correct, if your password has an @ or " in it then it maybe switched around due to keyboard settings. Or sometimes half the keyboard may print numbers due to the num lock key.
    5. Can any other wireless device connect to your wifi router such as your phone or another PC?

tbh it could be lots of things but lets see what you come back with from those 5 to start with :)

think it's Fn+F10 on the modena to turn wifi on/off, and think it's one of those models you have to turn it on every time you turn the lappy on :)
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I wouldn't buy a dongle until you've figured out a bit more regarding the problem.
It may be the f4 key that switches the WiFi on/off. There's almost certainly an indicator that shows if it's on or off as well. If you have the documentation for it, that should tell you what the function keys do and what indicators there are.

Fn key should be bottom left of the keyboard. Press this and F4 key together to enable the wireless LAN connection.
