  • Con by Ham, you don't mean Pork do you?

From the little I've read so far, most people/sites say you shouldn't feed Pork / Pork bones.

A ham joint is probably salted and salt can cause sickness. If it was just plain pork, it might have been too rich for her tum. I would start much simply, chicken is a good one as most dogs tolerate it well and it's one of the more easily digested proteins. When introducing mine to raw feeding, I bought the frozen mixed chicken portions (drumsticks, wings, etc) and frozen chicken breasts from supermarket. Then I went for fish (another easily digested protein), then slowly introduced beef mince, steaks, etc. Stick to one meat source at a time and stick to it for a couple of weeks before introducing the next one.

Umm not sure it was a butchers bone, my uncle owns one and i asked for a bone for the dog... it's massive and has bits of meat on it, red meat.

Might not even be ham but think it is.
  • What shape is it?

Could be a knuckle or shin bone from a cow which should be OK.

If she's not had them before, it's maybe been a bit rich - Ben wasn't great with red meat / bones so I tended to let him have them for an hour and then take them off him. HTH

Umm it's kind of round cylindrical then at the end its like a big chunky bit that is all knobby looking.

Think it's been the fact we left her with it during night and I reckon she has kept at it, have been taking them away after a bit now.

My dog gets sick if he has a lot of pork, my vet said that 90% of dogs are allergic t pork, that's why you never see any pork dog food.

    Something like this?

That's a beef bone - yup, I'd suggest an hour at a time until she's used to them.

The knuckle can be totally eaten but if they eat too much at once it can make them very constipated (and you get solid white poop!) but the shin bit they won't manage to grind down.

She was a bit constipated I think yesterday and she was trying to do a poo and nothing came out. She hadn't ate a lot of the actual bone bit but think it is the fact I don't think she has EVER had a bone before as it took a while before she realised it was to eat so it's probably a shock to her system even in small amounts.
