LLoyds PPI Claim refused

Hi All - I claimed with LLoyds for mis-sold PPI on 2 loans one in 1999 and another in 2002 in January of this year. I have finally had a letter telling me today that they do not uphold my claim because they claim I signed to say I wanted it. I signed a number of forms when getting these loans and if I did sign this one I was not made aware of what it was for. I had a very secure job in the public sector at the time a job I have held since 1976 and that I still hold now. I simply would not have wanted cover as my job provided me with excellent sick cover etc. They say because I signed the form they cannot uphold the claim because that means that they feel it MUST have been explained verbally to me so I knowingly consented. I did not and still do not know what either of the policies covered me for surely this cannot be right. Anyone know what I can do ? Thanks in advance

Write back to them and say you reject the reasons they gave for not upholding your complaint stress the reasons you gave originally and ask the question .. why would you take a PPI when you had sick benefit from work that covered you for 12 months for free and then pay for this for the same period of cover with a separate policy, if you had life insurance then ask the same question, no one is going to pay twice for cover they already have in place.
Add that due to the recent media coverage on PPI mis sell, that you believe the PPI on these loans were front loaded, this meant that the PPI was put on at the start of the loan and paid to term end with interest, ask them to reconsider their decision or you will pass this to the Financial Ombudsman.0
