Have you recently upgraded a phone through the carphone warehouse or bought a new phone through them? When I upgraded I was informed that I would be automatically set up for the tech help and protect and the insurance (even though I didn't want to) and was given 2 numbers to phone in order to cancel.

I never received any paperwork about either policy, I called both numbers to cancel. Both of them then proceeded to set up DDs and take the money anyway (the £30 is for 6 months worth).

I contacted my bank (Nationwide) and told them that both companies had been instructed to cancel and that I wanted them to recall the money under the DD guarantee. They were little relunctant at first and said I should contact the companies but I insisted. The money was refunded and I have never heard anything since.
