Not the best at maths but when you add those sums up it comes to £952, so with £900 wages you will be £52 short.

I know DWP wont take into consideration your credit card, loan and I believe travel not sure about the TV licence as well as they class having a TV as a luxury and something you can do with out.

Even if they dont take those into consideration it will still only leave you with £43 a week to live on, the law states a couple needs £107 a week, I would give them a ring, you may be able to get help with your rent and council tax, and of course if you have kids you may get child tax credits, working tax credits or both.

Im sure someone else with more knowledge than me will come along soon and put you right.

I don't think you'll get income based ESA as your partner earns too much and works more than 24 hours a week.

If you put your household details into one of the benefits calculators you'll get a rough idea of what you may be able to claim .

As has been said, you will not be eligible for ESA due to your partner's hours and wages. You need to look into the other benefits that have been mentioned.

Income related benefits are just that - eligibility is based on household income and never expenditure. The following personal expenses are irrelevant to the calculations.

    gas and elec 67
    travel 52
    water 25
    tv lience 12
    credits cards 70
    loan 105

I suggest you download the MSE budget planner and work through the site to identify savings and reduce consumption, including the Old style moneysaving forum, and those that deal with debt, plus double check your entitlements on those benefit calculators.
