DRO finished, Companies still asking for money

As per title really..my DRO completely finished in Nov 11 but some companies are still writing to me asking for the money. When i say I dont owe it they are asking for proof of DRO, which Im not happy to do as it will cost me money to send and its not my problem that they havent updated their info. When i was in the CAB getting my DRO done 2 years ago the lady told me that companys will still write if not been updated on their system but to completely ignore it...so what do i do? ignore these letters or use my own money to send them info they should already have??

Who is contacting you?

A lot of DCAs/creditors can be contacted via email, which costs you nothing.

If they are still contacting you you need to do three things:

Double check they are actually included on your DRO
Send them a copy of the your DRO and request they update your records
Send in a written complaint if they don't stop

As said though, might be easier/free to email them!

Also worth knowing that from what I've been told, creditors are only sent notification of the DRO if there is a reference number added to the application. If not, they may not have been notified so it would be down to you to tell them as/when they crop up.
