I'm not keen on weetabix but like the plain mini oatibix - though the ones with fruit in are horrid.

You could crush them up and use instead of oats in flapjacks. If you've got a dog use them instead of mixer. If they are the plain ones add some to homemade bread - they will disappear in the finished product but the oats will be a good nutritional boost.

I tried making brownies with Oatibix and they were not very nice - there was still a strong taste of Oatibix.

I suppose I could use lots more chocolate, eggs or booze to make them more palatable but then it stops being moneysaving if I buy expensive ingredients! If I'm going to buy chocolate cake ingredients I would rather just make my usual brownie recipe which is much nicer.

I think I'll cut my losses and bin the Oatibix. I don't want to use them in another recipe and run the risk of spoiling the meal which would be even more wasteful.

I don`t like them either and I am getting rid of 1 at a time by crushing it into hm muesli

    I`ll never buy them again
  • I wasnt keen on them although my 10 month old dd loved them for brekkie.

Was glad I only paid £1 for them from my local Somerfield when they were on offer.

We must be in the minority as a family. We love them! Have you tried eating them without milk on. We buy the mini ones and give them to my little boy as snacks. He loves them, He will devour a bowlful in no time at all. Alternatively I used to put butter on my Weetabix as a kid and eat it like that. Have you tried that. Failing that send them in the post to me - Ha! Ha!

I love oatabix too, easier to digest than weetabix (no bloating) and just as yummy in weetabix cake recipe.

I love them too but I've been wheat-free for 20 years and I've eaten some disgusting things in place of bread and cereals over that time so oatibix are just like ambrosia!

My son loves Oatabix. He does get bored of them though so I have to alternate them with other cereals. At the weekends when he gets his own breakfast, he doesn't have them with milk, instead he spreads Peanut butter or Lemon curd or Jam on them and sits and eats them as if they were pieces of toast.
