Problems with British Gas

I've lived in my flat for almost 2 years and its a 2 bedroom flat (just some useless info for you there lol)

When i moved in i moved to British Gas (the place was Scottish power but i was with British Gas at my last place so i went with them)

My first quarterly bill from them was something ridiculous £800 (or something close to that, i would have to dig out the bills)

and i rang and said its clearly wrong and the meter must be dodgy, it took about a year for my complaint to be handled by the correct person and by then i did owe about £800 so started a payment plan.

I had my last quavery bill through and they are charging me £700 for 4 months of electric!

When i ring its like talking to a brick wall.....

I had an email saying if i don't pay it in full they will either take me to court or cut me off.

I rang them this morning and said I'm not paying because I'm fed up of telling them that it must be wrong, and that I'm sticking to my £40 a month payment plan.

and i asked the man around 50 times how long it would be till they cut me off and he wouldn't give me an answer, he said a different dept dealt with it, So i said put me through then because i need to know because i have a 3yr old daughter and I'm pregnant and he said it had no number so he couldn't.....

So, Does anyone know if its easy for them to cut someone off?

Im so fed up of arguing them i literally will go insane if i speak to them on the phone again.

Im moving out on July 10th so I'm trying to get till then (i realise they will muck up my credit rating but I'm so fed up of battling with them)

can anyone help please? x

Its likely they could pursue a warrant by then.

Make a complaint so they have 8 weeks to sort it before you can complain to the ombudsman.

Its not at all clear what the problem us without more info but it sounds like it may be an opening reading/opening date/account missing type issue.
