tax credit question

my partner has made £1000 more than last year,do we have to inform tax credits right now so we do not get an overpayment,we usually get our renewal pack at the end of may.

    You can wait for the renewal - you'll be getting overpaid now but it won't be by much, probably £8pw or so, so just factor that into your budgeting. Your payments after the renewal will be reduced to take the overpayment back.
