I have to completely disagree with you.

I too purchased my dress from ebay at £92 posted. When it arrived i was shocked to find at the sheer quality for the small amount i had paid. It has brilliant stitching and beading and is boned and everything. The dress is heavy so i know that its good quality. The layers is unreal too. I would strongly advise anyone to have a go at the Ebay purchases esp if your wanting a low cost dress.

I have found the most amazing dress however i bought it in white and now i need it in ivory due to my colour scheme, sad thing is, i cant find the same dress again.. must be end of line. its literally the only dress i feel i would like. The first one I seen and truely wanted.. Its amazing..

Another way to look at it is, you get what you pay for but i certainly think and believe that i truely got a massive bargin.. :D

Completely disagree with what? It's a personal story.

    Unless you mean this;

My advice for anyone who is seriously considering purchasing a wedding dress from China is to think long and hard about it and to actually try and find someone who has had the experience of actually buying from the site/seller and not just looking at their feedback.

Which seems like pretty sounds advice?

nothing wrong with purchasing from china...however there may be problems with certain sellers in china.

Just like there are problems with uk sellers, there is good and bad.

it may not have been your dream dress (because it wasn't a copy of the one you really wanted) but for £65 I don't think it was so bad.

Obviously, a picture can't attest to quality of fabric or workmanship but the beading on the bodice must have taken someone a very long time to hand sew, and it is a good fit. So, for someone who has not got a specific dress to compare it with (and so find it wanting) it may be a good buy.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with buying from China since that is where most things are made now a days. I was meerly sharing my experience and as quoted below I did say to find someone who has bought from the seller with their experiences and not just rely on feedback.

I think that had I found a thread like this with pictures of what the dress was supposed to look like and what arrived I would have done what I have ended up doing and bought a preloved dress and saved myself an extra £88 (cost of dress plus import taxes).

Then again MrsC2be has had a good experience with buying from China which does go to show you can have a good experience, just in my case it was bad.

I actually liked the Chinese dress - apart from the cheap embellishments. I thought it fitted you beautifully. There is a lot of fabric and therefore on that basis alone I think £65 is good value.

I do a lot of sewing and I would have trouble sourcing the fabric in the UK at that price.

I agree about the plastic pearls - they are a bit naff. I would have removed them and bought some crystal embellishments and sewn them on myself. I would also have added some embellishment to the train so that the back view was nicer.

Other than that I think it's a pretty dress. It would benefit from one of those hooped petticoats - the model wearing the expensive dress is wearing one.

I recently went with a friend and her daughter to buy her wedding dress. It was very similar to the ones you like - the rrp was £1500, they had a little haggle and got it down to £1200. Beautiful dress but a lot of money just for one day.

I hope that your "pre-loved" dress is all you hope for and that you have a lovely day and feel like a princess.

PS - Just had a second look at you in the cheaper dress, judging from the back view you hadn't fully laced the corset, that makes a big difference too. I still think you looked lovely though.

I agree with what others are saying. For £65 the dress is very good for the money, but I can absolutely understand your disappointment. The embellishments at the bust particularly have no resemblence to the original picture. Did the Feedback from others reflect this? Seems odd that there wasn't any prior warning.

I suppose one way of looking at it is at least it was £65 and not £650 down the drain. To be honest, if I was even considering such a precious purchase online, sight unseen, I would research to the nth degree before sending my payment.

At least you had a happy outcome, and your family saved the day :T
