Hi
I graduated in July 06 and I have been no the Barclays Graduate additions account since...I get charged £5 a month for it and it really isn't doing what I want it to do for me.
Big problem - I'm disabled and am unable to work at the moment...so I don't have any income apart from benefits. Tried to talk to Barclays about the problem but they've not been that good about it - they are a business and need to make money obv. afterall.
Anyone know of a bank that I can switch to who will take someone in my position? Really stuck here... Graduated 2nd in my year group now feel like a bit of a fool...

Hi Debs, sorry to hear about your situation. I had two student accounts during university - with RBS and Natwest, and RBS have been the best so far. Although I'm now back doing a postgrad course, they both turned into graduate accounts for my year in between and I didn't have any problem with either of them - and RBS had the biggest interest free overdraft as both of mine were maxed out and it goes down each year after graduation, but whereas Natwest went from £2k to £1k interest free limit, RBS only went down from £2k to £1500 in the first year after graduation. I can't say how they'd be about your situation but I'm just saying that some other factors meant I was much happier with their account - also, their interest rate on charged overdraft is about half that of Natwests. Also, I'd check into those paid for accounts - look at if you really want/need/would use those services or I wouldn't pay otherwise.
Sorry this isn't really relevant to your situation but maybe if you know the decent enough banks then you might have an idea who to approach first...
Good luck,
Sarah0
