But I did ask where it originated after the site it was originally advertised on.
By which I meant Dell.
This is going around in unnecessary circles.0 -
OK let me make a couple of points
1. It shouldn't have been headlined the printer scam.
To be honest it was never my intention to call it a scam, thats why it got its own grey box. I've changed it now. *I'll explain why it happened at the end.
2. Were the printers that were sold discovered via this site.
A three pronged answer
a. This is by far the biggest bargain forum and site in the UK (the site is now the 5,778th biggest site in the world)
b. The printer was headlined in my tip (was reaching about 150,000 people then, now 230,000) which also has a massively bigger reach than any other equivalents.
c. And this is the real killer fact. The reason i know about the sale is that the person who did it posted on the website and said that he discoved about the printers from here. He wanted to say thank you. I like many MoneySavers while i understand the merit of this pointed out that this isn't what the sites about. This is a consumer revenge site about consumers helping each other to take on profiteering companies, not providfing information to make money out of other consumers.
For me this is simple. The printer was freely available for £10, by selling it on, on information gleaned from a site which is to help consumers, goes against what this site is all about and i would prefer for it not to be used that way. My philosophy is about redressing the balance in the adversarial consumer society, not pitting consumers against each other!

*I'll let you into a little secret, while I still write every word of every article, to save time, it's normally one of the team who puts it on the site rather than me directly, as its a time consuming process. Part of that is occassionally subbing and adding in headline and a bit of formatting. That was one that was added in, i always then read through it to double check before it goes live, but i missed the addition of the word scam there, so it was a scam scan that was the scam word problem!Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

To be honest this discussion has got so far off track i've unlinked it from the article. I'm happy for it to continue, but the aim was for this discussion to help newbies on ebay not to hack through the above. So i'm going to put a new ebay rules discussion in and leave this one to free floatMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Thanks for that Martin. I tend to get very territorial about this forum, and it's not mine!
Apologies if I prolonged any 'arguments', but I felt that people were using this as a 'first stop' and then going on to other forums to post their 'latest find' and nearly being beatified for it.
A couple of people are well known for grabbing every bloody thing in sight, which goes against what I think this site's all about. But that's just me.
Now ...
.... where ARE the places to avoid on eBay?0 -

I'm glad I'm not alone in spotting that, and to be honest it sickens me when I see a feeding frenzy of vultures out to grab what they can just because they can and not because they need it ... it's sheer GREED
I tend to steer clear of certain boards now as it just winds me up"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
