Renewing Road Tax - Insurance certificate
Hi all, after some advice really. Just got a car which is untaxed. The other half has insured said vehicle. Bell insurance have (eventually, after much talking on the phone!) supplied an Insurance Certificate via E-mail. Now I've bought and sold many cars over the years, and taxed a fair few too, without issue, although with everything available online these days, I've not visited a good old Post Office for a few years for tax. My question is this. I would imagine the printed E-mail is fine to present to Post Office staff as would be a copy that was posted to me, but there's no company heading or anything, which worries slightly. It does say on it about the legalities etc, and it looks very official, but what makes it a legitimate Certificate in the eyes of the post office? Just wondered, as it's obviosly not embossed or anything. Thanks!

This DirectGov webpage says...Insurance certificates downloaded directly from the internet by the policy holder are acceptable from 30 April 2010 (this applies to GB only).0

The email itself would not be accepted but if you have a PDF copy etc document of the insurance certificate that you have printed off is accepted.
