Why do you presume, those of us who are unfortunately on benefits (not of our choice!) have nothing to put in a will.
I am a single parent because of a cheating, lying ex. I have no money for the record, and yet I would like to write a will for my children, leaving them my house and some personal items.
So unless you have something useful advice to offer don't bother!!0 -
You can buy simple will packs in a place like WH Smith that will guide you through the process of making your own will. If you have non-complicated assets that will suffice.
Or sometimes charities can help out on condition that you leave a bequest to them.
There are a number of threads on here about it so you could do a search.Retired in 2015.

Some solicitors offer their services for free, in return for a modest donation to charity."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

You can do it OnLine.
The cost can be about £30 or less once other cheaper options become available. I am keeping various ones inline myself for use when I need them.0 -
After watching the TV about Wills I know not to trust the 'packs' or some 'on line writers'.

In that case the best option for you is to find a solicitor who will do it.
As long as you follow the basic guidelines and don't have complicated finances, then I believe the diy packs are fine. If you have any sort of property complication then a solicitor is the answer if you don't trust a will writer.Retired in 2015.
