Cold Caller Scam - Bogus PPI Claims Companies

Hi all first thread here so bear with me!
I've received several cold calls of late on my mobile from companies claiming to be able to get me a PPI refund. I've always ignored the spam texts, I'm on TPS and I've never taken out PPI so where they got my details from I do not know although they do always ask for me by a previous surname - one I've not used for a number of years so they are chancing it.Some, however, have fallen for this scam :huh::
I cannot post the link sadly but the STV news website under their Edinburgh section has a story re a lady who lost a 3 figure sum by falling for a random PPI claims cold caller. Anyone who has had a call from someone claiming to get them PPI cash should contact Action Fraud immediately on 0300 123 2040.
I think most people are smart enough to know to avoid these cold callers but if in any doubt, do not hand any details over to random callers claiming to be able to get you cash for ppi/accidents etc etc...
