OK, moving house and have been told that before I change I have to take up the account with the present energy supplier (EON).
Accordingly I went onto the said companies web site only to find no mention or facility for people wanting to join the company at all. Plenty of links for existing customers wanting to do things , but for potential new customers - zilch.
After sorting right through the site I found a phone number of sorts but not specific, however I rang it and bingo, Sorry but we are experiencing greater than usual traffic !!! please hang on ,and on, and on, and on. Oh no how I hate Vivaldi. 45 mins later got an answer , sorry can't help need to transfer to someone else, guess what , Vivaldi again .
If this is how they treat potential new customers trying to join them I hate to think how troubled existing customers make out
Godwrot firms who treat the public like this , may their fundemolds fester !

Whatever you do switch it to someone else as soon as possible! Will NEVER go with E.On again, shambolic company0

You searched the entire website but didn't spot the link for people moving house? Should've gone to specsavers

Not easy to find when it is hidden under EXISTING CUSTOMERS and I am a potential NEW customer. Do not need specsavers but a crystal ball and psychic powers.

If you have not managed to get through to them by now, Email them with the start date of your Ownership/Tenancy and the meter readings, print out a copy and keep it on file - That way there there can be no future arguement of what billing you are responsible for0

I hate to tell you this but you will automatically become a "deemed" customer the moment you assume responsibility for the premises.
Have you moved in yet? Quite likely there will be a "to the occupier" letter arriving. If not the previous customer has not signed off. Make sure you note the meter readings on entry. Ideally take a photograph.
There is no pressing need to make prior arrangements unless there is currently no live supply. Move in and take stock. Look for the letter.0 -

Definitely take the readings though.0 -
One of the reasons I had to resort to trying to make contact was that when putting the address into the web site it kept coming back as property not found. I finally found out this was because they had spelt it wrong on their database. The bad news is that I have to go back to them on another long call and repeated Vivaldi because that is the only way to get them to correct the name , the way they have spelt it letters wont get to me.You scullion! You can email their customer service to sort that out, just a quicker version of the old fashioned letter.
Perhaps the board guides on here might be the best way for you? They openly state their contact details for MSEers unlike the other suppliers.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
I’m sorry we haven’t made a very good first impression anotherbaldrick.
We have recently changed our procedure for new customers following a change of address and this has lead to an increase in calls. We’re working on improving this.
We need speak to you when you move in to make sure we have all the information we need to avoid problems further down the line. This includes meter readings, date of birth etc. We can also help you choose the most suitable product for your needs.
If you’re still struggling to get through on the phones, you can send an email with the correct spelling of your address to homemoves@eonenergy.com, pop your contact number on and we’ll call you back if there’s anything else we need.
We aim to reply to emails within 5 working days of receipt, but the recent Bank Holiday has put us a little behind so don’t worry if you don’t hear back from us straight away.“Official Company Representative
