No dashboard readings - fuse?

I have a 56 plate 1.6 Auto Corsa with 15k miles on the clock.

Just came back from a short trip to the shops and noticed that I have no readings on the dashboard - no rev counter, oil temp, speedometer or fual gauge reading.

A little surprising and after pondering, I wondered if it is likely to be a fuse that has gone. If that is the case, can someone point me in the right direction of which fuse, where it'll be and how to go about changing it please? I have no experience of this type of stuff but am keen to avoid a garage repair bill if I can.

look in your handbook.

Or look under the dash there will be a cover pop it off and you shall see fuses...lots of fuses and if you look on the back of the cover there will be a list of the fuses and what they do, they will be numberd to help locate the fuse so have a torch handy.

Corsas do have a connection problem and you can sometimes get the dash live again simply by pushing the front of it or thumping the top. If that resolves the problem temporarily, take the dash out and locate the connection that needs fixing and packing.

does it even come out with out removing the steering wheel?

So I was right in my thinking that it may be a fuse and if not that, a loose connection?

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction for the location of fuses. I wanted to run it past people that my thinking of what was causing the problem was likely to be correct before dragging the handbook out and investigating further.

that's EXACTLY what happened to me (and where - shopping lol) CWTA, yes it was a fuse. There was a diagram in my book, spare fuses in the fuse box, job done in minutes by me!
Book advised I check the electrics. What I did was mention it to my mechanic, a few weeks later when he serviced my car and took it for the MoT and he gave me some spare fuses;)

well the first think to look at on electrics is the fuse.

well i would have said speedo head connector too and be worried in case reason it was out was to do a mileage cleanse

so its a fuse

fuses tend to have an odd collection of things attached to them, so you might notice that your dash isn't working, along with an interior light and some other function.
On my old MR2 I once had no clock and no fog light - both on the same fuse bizarrely.

So have a good check and see that everything is working, and find and replace the fuse first and foremost. If not it's probably the connector to the clocks as mentioned. They're not as scary as they seem to gt out usually, Steering wheels come off pretty easily and they're generally just a couplle of screws tucked behind some trim. The owners club should have a how-to on doing them.
