Mother of the bride outfits....

Hi everyone... I've only been a member for about ten minutes so be gentle with me! :)

I have been browsing every possible website looking at potential outfits for my mum but I can't seem to find much that she would like or wear or things that fit in with our colour scheme. Just wondering where people have got theres from or seen any nice ones?

Thanks in advance :) x

evans for MIL i have got a nice dress with a waterfall cardigan as she likes to have her arms covered i think the MOTB outfits are amazingly expensive!!!!
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5
  • My mum got a dress from Phase eight for our wedding last year (she bought it at one of the Debenhams spectacular things) and this year (as mother of the groom) she's got a shift dress from Hobbs.

If you look on Ebay there are loads of brand new MOB outfits for a fraction of their new price. It seems many people buy two and sell the one they didn't wear after the event. If you know what size fits you in a particular range such as Jacques Vert, you can't go wrong.

My mum has got a lovely dress from Phase eight, n a cream jacket to go with it. We weren't bothere about it matching the theme (autumn) so autumn colours- she just didn't want to stand out. In the end she got a dress which is a light brown/ mink colour.

Thanks everyone, I will keep looking! Mum isn't so 'jee-wizz' with technology so much better if I do it for her lol! We would be here until after the wedding if not haha! Maybe going to have to go with something not so theme-ish!

My Mum got her MOB outfit from John Charles. I will say it wasn't at all MSE.:o

Ebay seems to be a good place for MOB outfits 2nd hand at a fraction of the original cost. In fact my new MIL has just given me her MOB outfit from my husbands first wedding to sell.

  • Would it be worth doing something like a personal shopper day? That's how my mum got her outfits when my sisters got married - one was from Debenhams and one was from (I think) John Lewis. You could make it an activity for the two of you to do together and have lunch or something as well, and maybe invite your OH's mum if you all get along.

Yeah my fiance's mum suggested making a day of it but I just have a horrible feeling we will organise what will be a lovely day and end up finding nothing! Think we are just going to have to try and keep our fingers crossed!

    Hi,

I booked my Mum in with the personal shopper at House of Frasers & took her for a day out. We had a good few hours with the PS & she tried loads of wonderful outfits on. We breifed the lady on the heat, where the wedding was etc & she was great. Mum ended up with a lovely dress from Phase Eight, she looks great in it. We then went & had a lovely lunch:D
