I don't see why not but i would grill the sausages first then add to the pasta sauce if you are doing it on the hob do it as per jar/packet instructions same goes for the oven method happy cooking0

I do it sometimes with pork sausages. Grill them, cut them up into pieces and throw them into your pasta sauce. Yummy.0

I've done pork sausage in pasta sauce -skin the sausages and put in hot frying pan-you shouldn't need any fat unless sausages are very lean or pan sticks. Break up the sausage meat as it cooks. When it looks cooked add tomato sauce and simmer for about ten minutes.0

Ive got a recipe for sausage in pasta sauce, unless you specifically wanted to put sausage in a ready made sauce? Its a lovely, tasty recipe and doesn't taste of carrots believe it or not!
Macaroni with Sausage and carrots
8oz/200g sausages or sausagemeat
1 tbs cooking oil
½ oz/12g butter
½ med-sized onion finely chopped
3 medium carrots, grated
400g tin tomatoes (blend until smooth)
4 floz/100ml chicken or beef stock (water and ½ cube)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp dried oregano
12oz/300g macaroni (you can use fusilli or whatever pasta you have)
3oz/75g freshly grated parmesan or cheddar cheese
salt and pepper
If using whole, sausages, make a slit in the skin, remove the meat and cut into slices. Heat oil and butter in a pan and cook onion until soft and translucent. Add sausages/sausagemeat and lightly brown, breaking it up if it is sausagemeat. Add the carrots and stir for a few minutes. Add the tomatoes, stock, bay leaf and oregano and cook, covered, over a low heat for 30 minutes. Season if needed. Cook and drain pasta and mix in with the sauce. Serve grated cheese separately.0 -
Absolutely, this is one of DS's fave meals.
We use vegetarian hot dog sausages which are cooked then chopped and added to cooked pasta and a heated through pasta sauce with lots of extra mushrooms thrown in too. Garlic bread served with it as well....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
