Hi there
I have alarge box of weed feed and mosskiller that opened the other day and it has got damp being in the shed. I tried to sprinkle it on my grass but it has all clumped. What can i do with it. I am trying to dry it out on plastic sheet but this could take ages. Can it be mixed with water and watered on with a watering can. If so do you know how much I should add per litre.
Thanks for any help but i dont want to throw it away, it isnt cheap to buy and my lawn is a right mess and needs sorting thanks.

How strange, I got one out of my garage only yesterday and found that it was the same so I broke the clumps up with the intention of using it when I noticed it was for Autumn treatment of the lawn, so I will try it out later in the year I'm sure that it can't do any harm.0

my clumps were quite mushy so couldnt break them up. I wonder if anyone ele has any advice for us.
thanks0 -
Well if the weedkiller element has become separated from the fertiliser you could end up killing more lawn than you feed in that case.0

how can you tell, icould try a bit on a patch of grass to see what happens0

My theory is that if the clumps are dry like mine were then the particles of fertilizer and the particles of weed killer can be separated so that when they are spread over the lawn it coats the grass evenly with fertilizer and weedkiller, if the mixture has become wet as yours has it will be impossible to separate the weedkiller element from the fertilizer and so some of the mixture will have more weedkiller and some will have more fertilizer, you can try it but you may be lucky and the product that comes out of the spreader is mainly fertilizer and consequently does no harm to the grass, on the other hand you may be unlucky and you spread loads too much weedkiller on your test piece which kills the grass. So the test area could be successful but the remainder of the mix could still be too strong. That's my theory as I say.:(0

i think i will make up a fairly dilute solution in my watering can and try a bit. The way the weather is at the moment it will get well washed in. It doesnt appear to be drying out much0

Sorry my mistake I thought it was the dry stuff like I have Westlands Feed Weed and Moss killer which is applied dry straight from the container, I didn't realise it was soluble stuff that will probably be ok then.0
