I saw an advert for http://www.webeden.co.uk/ and thought it looked ideal for my needs.
I know very little (OK, nothing) about building a website and wonder if the 'Techies' on here would help me. I have lots and lots of photos and videos of my family (mostly my grandchildren) that I would like to share (or as my wife says, bore) with my family/friends overseas. I have many videos on youtube and was thinking of linking them to my website. Also to update the site on a regular basis on grandchildrens progress and new photos and videos. Will 20 MB storeage be enough for my needs?
As webeden is offering a Free site, what have I to loose? Is there other Free sites I can look at? I did enter 'free websites' on google but I'm really unsure what to look for.

ps, I did read dazzers post but that was about a business website.

    hi

20mb is very very little space. If you have no experience in web design it will take you a long time to master everything you have mentioned.

It seems to me you don't really need a website. but just a facebook account? you can upload pictures and keep family updated through that, also it has good privacy features so you can show pictures only to family members in your facebook list.

    and it's all free :)

or is there a reason you dont want a facebook account?
    ewwwww what is that...

Must agree with the above. If you create a website it's open to anyone anywhere in the world. I wouldn't want to reveal videos and pictures of my family in that way.

Something like Facebook or Google+ will have security measures so that you can control who sees your content.

    Agreed.

Facebook or Google+ is what you need, and if you need help building a page, there are tons of helpful video tutorials on YouTube!
Look at it this way... In a hundred years who's gonna care?

Thank you for the replies. I have a Gmail account but know nothing about Google+. I'm off to have a look. I think I will give the website idea a miss.
