Please bear with me , I get very confused with all this.
We claim child tax credits. Last November my Wife went on maternity leave, I phoned up and updated the tax credits office with our new estimated annual income. I have recently discovered I should have deducted £100 per week of my wife's maternity pay for this figure. Should I wait until we get our P60's to update the tax office or tell them now.
When she finishes her maternity leave she will be made redundant. She hopes to become a child minder qualifying in november/december.
For the 3 months not working or so is it worth her claiming JSA as I understand it will have a negative effect on our tax credits.
I earn approx £24300 full time and my wifes income last year was about £6000
We have 2 small children.

She can claim JSA if she is activly seeking full time employment, I understand she is not doing this so wont qualify.0

You will need to wait to get your renewal pack to update last year income. I would say claim the JSA if she meets the criteria.0
