HSBC 'Fast Balance'

Options
This morning I had a text from HSBC stating their fast balance app was now ready to download.

I have duly done this, but can't seem to connect - is anyone else havig the same problem?

Also it appears that you can only see current accounts that have a debit card issued - what about savings accounts, and my basic account (that has a cash card but not a debit card)?

Any one know anything?

Thanks!

It's working for me but very very slowly!

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

Working fine for me, having gone through the long sign up process.

Pretty basic, but that was expected.

Thanks guys, perhaps their server (or whatever it is) is busy.

Can't believe it doesn't include savings a/c's etc - Santander's app is great!

ALSO - it has taken a £1.00 debit authorisation from the card I typed in!!!!!

  • Anyone know how to add a savings account? As I don't have a card number for that!
  • It seems you can't view savings bank accounts. The card number is not long enough.

My current account works fine and fast.

As to those saying its limited I say good. I don't want it to do anything apart from show my balance.

I know the key card is a pain but it would be more of a pain trying to get ones money back from hackers and fraudsters !
  • Sorry folks - HSBC has just wasted a customer interaction. This app is so lame that it deosn't bear using.
RBS and NatWest and Santander have fully functional mobile apps - with absolutely sufficient security. I'm not sure why HSBC bothered at all.

Natwest's (and so presumably RBS's too) only became fully function (on Android, at least) with the update a few weeks ago. HSBC may be just releasing this version as an interim solution, like Natwest did.

None of them compare to the simplicity and functionality that Santander's has though, in my opinion. Mobile banking is one thing that Santander have done very well.

Agreed. It's no real use at all, and nowhere near as good as Santander's!
