Howdy!
My Avast 1 year trail is running out. Time flies!
Is it just a case of me uninstalling Avast and reinstalling it to get anohter year? Apologies if the answer is easy to find - in the midst of school holidays with the kids!
Thanks!

Avast free (which I assume you've got) has a 1 year licence, which has to be renewed, for free. You just have to make sure you only select the free version.
You shouldn't have to uninstall it, just go to Maintenance, Registration so long as you have version 5.x or 6.x. If you don't then it's probably worth upgrading.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Just renew it(if the free version), not sure how you do that, i remember opening avast (right click on avast icon in bottom right corner then select user interface) and i think the option is there.
Infact i believe victor has it spot on.0 -

Do you mean a disposable one?
If not, how do they email you the free 12mth licence key?
In all the years I've been using Avast, I've not yet had any spam or marketing of any sort that could have come from them.
As to the OP, Avast will give you an opportunity to renew as the 12mths approaches.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Cheers folks!
I tried Victors suggestion and it wouldn't let me click 'Continue' on the free upgrade, I could only click 'Continue' if I had selected an upgrade that I would have paid for!Albert Einstein “Imagination is more important than knowledge”0 -
