Try right clicking it and changing, open with, choose what you would normally open it with and apply

thing is i dont know what it would open with.

normally just burn the iso to a disc and it auto runs when you play it

i tried to associate it with nero but that didnt work..

What burning software do you have installed on your PC??

Nero will handle .iso files, but so do others (magiciso, EasyCD creator, CDBurn)

What happened when you tried to open it wil Nero???

I have the same problem, all my iso's show up as rar files and open too, but nero still burns them, in nero just click 'burn image to disc' and when it asks you where the image is, select the iso you want and burn it, mine have all worked fine. I've tried changing the associations but they still show up as rar files. But as nero still burns them I'm not worried.

That seems odd, it sounds like you are simply buring the .iso file to a DVD

Open Nero Burning Rom from the start menu,

Click the OPEN button (do NOT start a mutisession)

Now browse to the location you have your .iso file

now open it, it should show you whats in the .iso file and allow you to burn the contents of the .iso to disk.

    edit:
Rev's explanation is for Nero Express. They both mean the same, depends on how you use Nero.

it would appear that you have winrar installed on your pc, if thats the case right click on the rar file and extract the files. If you have downloaded in rar format then download winrar and do as above

Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

    thanks for all the replies..

kinda got it sorted now, i downloaded a demo of isobuster which then changed the association so it shhowed as a iso. (couldnt do much else though as was only a demo and was shareware)

still didnt burn correctly though as wouldnt run so downloaded power iso?? which let me extract the contents of the iso to a false drive then i copied the false drive as a new iso and all worked.

and after all that i had a corrupt section so wouldnt install!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    may have another look tomorrow..
