Sat Nav and heated windscreens

I use a Navman ICN510 Sat Nav in my Ford Focus, and I can honestly say that all works perfectly fine.
If you take a look on a specialist forum such as https://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk you'll see it's generally the "Heat Reflective Windscreens" such as those on some BMW, Peugeot, Citoren, and Renault are those that CAN cause problems with SOME GPS equipment.
You'll note that some manufacturers of late promote improved GPS Reception circuitry, and there certainly is a massive difference between a Navman ICN510 and the current TomTom ONE which uses STARtac (sp)

This is the one I got (a couple of years ago now) and it works fine in my Mondeo:

Well, I've ordered a Holox BT-321 from eBay. Please don't tell me they are rubbish.
Just over £30 so hopefully I'll have it working over the weekend.
Thanks for all your advice.

Focus '03 heated windscreen. TomTom One V2 works fine in the centre of the screen.0

Yep - the TomTom One is usually fine with heated windscreens, and is a fantastic satnav system too

Looks good, it has the RFDM chipset which is supposed to be as sensitive as the SIRF-III chipset.Gorgeous_George wrote:Well, I've ordered a Holox BT-321 from eBay. Please don't tell me they are rubbish.
Hopefully this will get a fix through your heating windscreen!- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -

We have a Focus with heated front screen. We attach our sat nav to the bottom of the middle of screen and it works perfectly, no probs at all.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Very true, I used to have a Renault Laguna with heat reflective screen and could get no signal from the windscreen. As my GPS is wired anwyay, I just put it up in the sunroof via my headrest and it was fine there.0 -
Hi
Once again, many thanks for all the replies.
The Holox BT 321 arrived today, I uploaded TomTom 6 to my Nokia N73 and it all works! Tried it in Mrs GG's car and no problems.
