Coffee Cup Software 'No refund policy'

Options
If you are considering buying software from a company called Coffee Cup be aware of their 'no refund policy'.

I bought Web Editor for Mac - advertised as 'fully functional beta' but in 2 minutes of using it I had a problem with it failing to preview pages correctly. Several emails later it was apparent that this wasn't any error on my part but something they needed to resolve. As it rendered their product un-useable to me I asked for a refund, believing that this was reasonable - no they will not refund my money.

Moral of this post - don't buy any software that doesn't offer a trial download, that has a 'no refund policy', and that is beta - even if they do say fully functional! Even worse there is absolutely no help documentation whatsoever.

You bought a beta so expect problems with it.
    From their site
Why are you charging for the beta?

There’s two really good reasons for that. First, these aren’t half-baked betas—they’re fully functional apps that haven’t been released to the public yet. Second, you’ll get to upgrade to the final release at no extra cost, so you save a ton of money by jumping in now!
You have a beta, which by it's nature, has bugs still to be sorted. However when the final version is released then you get that free. You will get a full version for half price as the cost of the beta is $39 but the final version of Web Editor will be $69–$89

All the info was there if you looked.

They've been around for ages, Coffee Cup was one of the first popular web editors.

Their no refund policy is based on ...

CoffeeCup Software, Inc. has a No Refund Policy on all of our software applications and bundles.
We do this because we offer free, fully functional trial versions of our software that you can download and try before you buy. These trial versions allow you to test the software before you decide to make a purchase.

... but there doesn't appear to be a trial available for the OS X beta web editor, so they're failing their own policy there.

They're chosing to sell an unfinished beta version, with an update to the full completed version at some unspecified time. So may be a refund on this software is appropiate if it's not fit for purpose in it's current state.
