                    Hi
I have just filled out the forms for working tax credits, i work around 30 hours, night shifts, but this can change with overtime. (which the know about)
This is the first time i have ever applied, how long do you usually wait to hear?
And is it backdated from the day you make the claim?
Thank you very much

            Hi Goblin
I'm not an expert but the claim usually takes a couple of weeks to process and they will normally backdate money to the date yousubmitted the claim, provided its not more than a few weeks.
Unfortunatels, they are busier than usual at this time of year due to it being renewal time and start of the new tax year, so you may have to be patient. In the meantime, go over to the tax credit website where there are loads of FAQs with good, sensible answers...0

You are asked to allow 3 weeks from when you send it back to allow them to deal with it. Backdating depends when you sent it back and if you included a note asking for it to be backdated. Pre-6th April it was up to 3 months, post-6th April it's 1 month.0
