Can I block a buyer in these circumstances?

I just emailed a buyer today (as a courtesy) saying that I would be sending their item on Monday when I got back from holiday, but almost wish I hadn't. He emailed me back and wrote:
"oh, and u just forgot to mention it in decription...
lets see, next monday plus another 2-3 day for royalmail so i'll get it in a 10 days time?
that not makes me happy at all"
I replied:
"I'm sorry you feel that way. It does say clearly in the main item display "Delivery: estimated in 6-7 working days", and there are only three working days left in this week. I also specified free P&P but am still sending it 1st class which you can see if you go into the details, which is usually one day, so I am acting in complete compliance with what I said in my listing.
I would be happy to give you a full refund immediately if you wish, just let me know and I will initiate the "Cancel transaction" process through ebay.
I am sure that this item will sell at this price and so don't mind waiting a bit longer if necessary, rather than someone be disappointed, as I have never had such a reaction from a customer since I started selling on ebay, me emailing you was just a courtesy that goes beyond what I had obliged myself to do. I totally understand the feeling of having to wait for something that you ordered online and are enthusiastic about as I get it myself quite often!
Let me know what you want to happen next.
regards"
I went into his "feedback left for others" and he's reacted this way recently with another seller and left a positive feedback with a negative comment. Can I just block him by added him to my blocked list from leaving feedback now/as a potential future buyer to avoid this?

You can add him to your blocked buyer list to stop future bidding.
You cant stop them from leaving feedback for this transaction.0 -
I'm sorry but why on earth are you selling if you can't ship for the best part of a week- you are just asking for problems. Buyers won't wait for their goods, regardless of how long you suggest you may dawdle and delay posting- they expect their stuff in a few days.
However you can block anyone you want just put 'block bidder' in the ebay help system and it will turn up the page for you. It won't help with the original sale though in this case and buyer can open an INR on you with paypal before you even post.
It is best to stop listing at least a week before any holiday to allow time for slow payers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Some buyers are laid back and some are just looking for an excuse to 'neg' the seller - most are somewhere between these two extremes.
It's difficult to judge a particular buyer's mindset so I always try to post things as quickly as I can, just in case I've got someone impatient or difficult on my hands.
Bear in mind it takes a full year for a 'neg' and low DSRs to drop off your feedback rating and if you have several difficult customers over 12 months, your account might be at risk - the hassle of an early trip to the PO is easier than finding eBay won't let you sell anything."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I put my handling time or whatever ebay call it to 3 days but always post next working day after payment at the latest & same day if paid for by around 4pm & my dispatch time star is only on 4.83, so if you don't post for a few days I can see that you'll soon be restricted.0

I wouldn't be happy as a buyer that it was taking almost a week to post the item, I have to say, although I wouldn't have sent such an abrupt message as your buyer did.
I also thought the OP's reply was a little bit more confrontational than it could have been.
Unless you want a neg and low DSRs, I think a bit more 'customer is always right' attitude wouldn't go amiss here.0 -
To be honest as long as the person has mentioned in the listing that it could take a few days to get posted then I am OK with that. If I was wanting something in a hurry then I just wouldn't bid on that item.
I sometimes struggle to get to the post office the next day, especially int he winter when my road can get closed off due to the weather so I put 3-4 working days in my listings and have no problems with buyers. I do know that there is going to be one eventually that is going to cause trouble though!0
