Unauthorised balance transfer by Barclays

Hi all,
I am after some advice please. I recently took a barclay card with the plan to transfer the balance from my Mastercard. To cut a long story short Barclays completed a balance transfer of £2000 without my authorisation and I made two phone conversations to them telling them I didn't want to do it at this time.

Barclays are currently reviewing the conversations and will call me back tomorrow to advise if my account will be refunded. My question is this:

Are they entitled to get the money back from Mastercard and leave me with the balance again? If I closed the Mastercard account which is now in credit would this make a difference.

Basically is there anything I can do to land Barclays stuck with the bad debt and have to credit my account back, hence getting me out of paying the £2000 back???

Any advice would be appreciated as I have nothing to loose!

Well you could try, however wouldnt that look like fraud and still land you with a dca for the debt.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

This is slightly ridiculous, you will possibly end up:
    1. Owing money to the previous issuer (possibly some nice debt collectors).
    2. Having a CIFAS marker on your credit file.
