please help speed up my laptop

I'm running vista, and web pages are very slow to load, often reloading, and getting messages about long running scripts. Word processing is very slow to appear on the screen.

How much RAM do you have installed? Vista needs 2GB RAM, but a lot of systems came with only 1GB installed.
I'd then start by ditching Rapport, Spybot, and Norton. Replace the latter with Avast or Avira. Better-and free.

Run CC Cleaner,set browser to clear cache/history ect daily/remove unwanted start up programmes,basically what it says in the link above,works for me everytime.
I also run Adaware every week.

Not according to the latest Whole Product Dynamic "Real World" Protection Test from AV-comparatives.
