Home Data Recruitment

Hi, I wondered if any of you money saving experts out there have come across a company called 'Home Data Recruitment' before? I currently work 22 hours a week for my long term employer but am looking for a part time- working from home job to help stretch the pennies further and hopefully get enough together for our family to have a little holiday later in the year. I look after my toddler on a Monday and Friday so it would need to be a work from home role. I saw an ad for a data entry clark for Home Data Recruitment and sent my CV asking for more details. They have contacted me to say that I sound like an excellent candidate for the role and have sent me the details including a very welcoming and friendly email from their Recruitment Manager. In this I am told about the duties required of me and details of the support offered in that role, but it goes on to say that I must purchase the training manual for a single non-refundable fee of £12.99. I quote them as follows: " To obtain the training manual there is a single non-refundable fee of £12.99. We must accept this fee to cover the training costs, processing fees as well as ensure only serious applicants are accepted. This cannot be deducted from your first pay and no other payment is required thereafter." It all sounds fair enough and I guess as they are largely employing home based personnel it is a way of whittling out the most serious of applicants but i've followed MSE long enough now to know that nothing comes for free and parting with cash BEFORE receiving anything from a source that I'm not 100% sure about normally goes against all my principles. So I'm doing my research first. I've searched Google and found nothing except ads on jobsites for data inputters with Home Data Recruitment. Can anyone shed any light? Are these guys legit? If I'm interested in the role should I send them my £12.99 or should I run a mile? I'd be very keen to hear about anyone else's experience of Home Data Recruitment. Thanks MSE'ers.

This is how many companies scam people by advertising home jobs for a fee. Avoid0

I wouldn't trust a company that you have to pay for, I would keep searching til you find something for free unless someone on here has an experience with them. But I can honestly say I wouldn't hand any money over.£2016 in 2016 : £100

Yeah don't pay anything, it's likely a scam. Avoid like the plague.
Think about it - any legitimate business is going to charge you to join them? No chance.0 -
HomeDataRecruit@gmail.com by any chance? It's a scam.0

I'm so glad I found this thread, was going to apply to them for similar reasons (can no longer afford childcare so have to go from full time to part time work and try to find work-from-home for the interim). This has saved me a lot of hassle!0

Malibu, this sort of thing has been going on certainly for decades, perhaps for centuries. Nothing seems to stop them, and unfortunately there are enough naive and gullible people in each generation to fall for it and keep them going. High unemployment does not help either.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
