NCD question
Really sorry to be bugging you again but this is the last thread I will start on MSE today I promise.
Changed vehicles in 2009 and transferred 7 years NCD to another vehicle. So am now building up NCD on my current car. Car was bought in May 2009 so right now I have 2 years no claims on that car. But if nothing happens between now and May 10th (touch wood) I'll actually have 3 years.
So on these comparison sites or indeed insurers own sites do I put in 2 years NCD as that's what I have right now or 3 years? If I buy insurance a couple of days before my old one expires by the time I send proof from my old insurer it will have gone up a year. Won't it?
I'm just asking because it makes £70 difference when I've tried 2 and then 3 years.

3 years (assuming you want the insurance to commence on the expiry of the existing insurance) as that is how much NCD you will be entitled to at the day of commencement of cover."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
