Teacher training Bursary and Tax Credits

My wife has today made a claim for both Working and Child Tax Credits and we have been told by the helpline that we will receive a weekly income from this. The payments will be based on estimated earnings for this tax year as our earnings in the 2011/12 tax year were significantly higher (I was made redundant in October 2011).
In September this year I will start training as a teacher and expect to receive a tax free government bursary of £15000 to cover the training period.
My question is whether I should include this expected bursary in my estimate of our joint income for 2012/13 and whether or not it will affect our tax credit payments.
