Help - Land Registry need to inspect my property!

Hi
I bought and moved into a house last October and the land was unregistered, therefore registration had to be applied for.
I assumed that everything was sorted, however I have this morning received a letter from Land Registry to say "as a preliminary step a surveyor will need to inspect the property to enable full consideration to be given to your application".
Anyone had this happen, or know what it means? My solicitor has been useless and I have been unable to contact her this morning.
Should I be worried, or is this normal procedure?

This should have been straightforward as registration is now compulsory for all land/property transfers.
Did your solicitor deal with the registration? If so, contact them first.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

normally with most unregistered land the land registry come out just to check that the boudaries are all corect. its quite a common trhing to happen. dont panic. they come out to make sure the boundaries are right as they are drawing the plan. as it is unregistered it hasnt been registered before so no official title plan would have been drawn. hope that helps. im a legal secretary so if you need any help just shout0
