Saving advice

I have £30k saved in a Cash ISA, i have no pension so i consider this to be my savings for my retirement. Speaking to a friend he suggested to invest in some funds as part of a stocks and shares ISA.
So I thinking of transferring half into the Santander 2 yr fixed ISA at 4% and the rest into a stocks and shares ISA.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If this is going to be your retirement pot then I have to ask; how old are you and how much are you saving each month?
£30k at 50 isn't much, but £30k at 21 is good.0 -
Also the question of how averse to risk are you WeaponX? As with all stocks and shares trading there is a risk that you may get back less than you invested, so if you do not like taking this risk with your "pension" savings then think of saving elsewhere!
