Android tablet recommendations up to £200

Good morning.
I'm on the look out for an android tablet for a birthday present. I know there are a lot of options and I don't mind trying our one of the chinese tablets as long as they are from a decent UK seller.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Don't really mind about having either a 7" screen or 9/10" screen but would prefer to avoid anything with less than 1024 x 600/768 resolution.
At the lower range of the budget I was looking at the Ainol Novo 7 Elf for £115. Seems decent but wondered if there is anything with more bang per buck.
Cheers in advance.

there's a big difference between a 7" and a 10" tab - how portable do you want it to be? I have a 7" lenovo A1 (£150 from amazon last time i checked), and is useful for taking on train/plane etc, it's too big for a pocket but isn't as bulky as a 10"er. My main reason for 7" was portability and to watch videos on, and 10 would have been overkill. The small screen is more of a compromise for internet browsing but I'm not that fussed - it's good enough for me.0

Has the Lenovo A1 got an acceptable version of ICS yet?
In terms of portability, it probably won't be used "on the move" so a ten inch wouldn't be a problem.0 -

nope, no ICS yet (though people are working on it)
It'll never be officially supported though as the tab's a reasonably budget one (single core, .5gb ram)and probably close to end of life. Personally i'm not bothered by lack of ics. Perhaps would be if it was 10".
Ebuyer had a cheap 10" ics tab (Scroll something for £170).
thing that puts me off no-names is usually the battery is terrible, but if you're using around the house, then shouldn't affect you in the same way.0 -

I was initially tempted by this. Put off by the low resolution screen though ad I feel it makes browsing painful ..0 -

Looks good for under £150, though I reckon it will be nearer £120 in a few months. IPS panel too, miles better than the hannspad or that vega.
These are also a uk seller - their 7" inch pads are decent too.0
