Hi
Am wondering if you guys can help please?
I have been having problems with my laptop for a couple of weeks now. This was just before Norton expired - I now have Microsoft Security only.
If you try to open more than two seperate Internet Explorer (for example if you have followed a link to a new website) I get a message to say Internet Explorer has stopped working, it then closes all my pages and reopens them.
At other times everything is just really slow.
Here is my Hijack This log:

First try running IE without add-ons.
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.aspStart IE in No Add-ons mode, either by right-clicking the Desktop icon, or clicking START | RUN and typing: iexplore.exe -extoff

I have noticed you have a lot of anti spyware and malware programs, are you able to disable them to see if it works?
It could be an issue with your anit**** software clashing, might be worth removing them and see if that helps.
Or just back up all your work and do a complete restore of your computer as it could take days to find the issue or to find the files you have corrupted.ewwwww what is that...0 -
At a quick glance through the log, you've still got bits of Norton running.
You'll need to get the Norton Removal Tool and run that for your version.
Also, these can go:-
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdateP2GShortCut] "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Power2Go\MUITransfer\MUIStartMenu. exe" "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Power2Go" update "SOFTWARE\CyberLink\Power2Go\5.0"

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe" (this is out of date and needs updating)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SUPERAntiSpyware] C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe (unless you are running continous scans):wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

You need an antivirus - Windows Defender alone isn't enough.
If you don't intend on renewing Norton, uninstall it and run the Norton removal tool as suggested by rmg1, then install one of the free Antivirus programs.

waddler_8 - I was under the impression that Norton still ran but didn't get any updates after it expired. Is that not the case?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
