Apols if this is in the wrong forum, please feel free to move if needs be but I love this forum and it is linked to house buying
We have some queries about the house we live in (that we're thinking of buying).
The valuers are coming round on Friday but one key thing for me is if we can legally (:D) convert the loft. Which means I need to speak to an architect to find out more info really. If we can, and we bought, we would then use them to draft up plans etc but I need to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about
(cos I don't!)
so, any advice? even better if someone in Birmingham/Sutton can recommend someone! but advice sought initially really.
Would a builder know whether we would meet the building regs or is an architect the best person to ask?
Thanks

Contact the RICS on 0870 333 1600 for names of chartered building surveyors in the area. They should be willing to come round and give you initial free advice as to the feasibility of what you're wanting to do.0

one I've contacted has said it will cost £75 to come and have a look! :eek:Trying to get on top of finances one step at a time0

Try some more - we do the initial visit to discuss ideas and feasibility for free - I'm sure we can't be the only ones (maybe that's why I'm on this site  )0
