You have not mentioned wireless encryption, is the netgear encrypted? If it is, WEP or WPA? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Its wep (13 digits) that i set myself when i installed the AOL & Netgear software.
when i origianally linked the USB stick to my named network it asked me for this which imputted, it then aquired an IP address, said connected with an excellent signal strength, but as soon as i umplugged the ethernet cable and tried to connected wirelessly it wouldnt work, even though it was saying connected along the bottom (by the clock):beer:0 -

My Netgear treats the wired connection as a different IP address from wireless, suggest you get into the configuration screen and ensure that the wireless device is attached and if using mac address filtering it's mac address is enabled. Best do your setting up without encryption then switch on the encryption once you've completed successful setup, saves a lot of bother.0 -
in my experience, never buy any belkin product. they have given me no end of grief. spent all day trying to get a wifi router to work once.
completely useless.
netgear is brilliant though. esp the dg834, simple setup and very quick too.
always try and keep your home networking products from the same maker.
it just makes sense.Get some gorm.0
