admin fees on change of circs car insurance

Has anyone had any success on claiming back admin fees that are outragous when reporting changes of circumstances???????/

I have had lots of changes this last year I am with A Quote.

3 changes of address and one change of occupation.

2 of the cahnges of address reulted in no change to the risk and no change to the actual premium, the change of occupation also was no cahnge of risk and no change of premium.

1 change of address did increase the premium.

In total I have been charged £75.74 purely in admin fees for these changes
I asked what this was actually for and was told it was the cost of changing the address on the data base and the cost of sending 4 letters confriming the changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
eg £18.93 per event I am astounded as this is a quarter of of my annaul premium.

I have also reported al thse changes to all my other insurers ie
home, contents, pet, health and life and there have been absoulutey no charges from any of the other insurance companys for any changes letters etc

Is it just car insurance firms that do this?
Have I any grounds to demand some money back similar to the campaign re bank charges?
Any advice much appreciated
Thankyou
I found my eutopia tee hee I live in canada yeehaa!

    No grounds at all

Bank charges are unenforceable as breach of contract fees must reflect cost. Admin fees are for providing a service and not breach of contract and therefore can be as much or little as the company wants as long as you were made aware of their existence when you agreed to the contract.

Lots of insurers do this not just car, you will find it most common with those that have the lowest prices (some would say that it is one of the ways they can sell the initial premium so low).

Usual advice... get the policy that is most suitable for you not just the one that happens to be the cheapest.
