Laptop not picking up home broadband

My DS's laptop was working fine until a few days ago and now does not connect to the internet. When you go onto the control panel and look at the options for wireless connection, there is a red 'x' besides the Sky broadband connection we have at home but shows other options, (ie BTOpenzone), are available.

My son has rebooted the laptop and I've rebooted the router. The home computer connects to the internet fine as does my OH's laptop and my iPhone. My DS has been round to his nan's for the weekend and his laptop works fine there, picking up on her Sky broadband.

My apologies if I've not explained it well. Does anyone know how we can get DS's laptop to connect to our Sky broadband again and have it run normally?

Don't know if it helps but he was watching Youtube at the time when it started to freeze and disconnect from the internet.

Any advice appreciated.

Birdy

go to "start" then "all programs" them "accessories" then "system Tools" and look for system restore , choose to restore to an earlier date and select one before the problem started

Worked absolutely fine that way. I can't remember the orignal error message now but my OH's has restored it to factory settings from the time we bought it and Sky seems to be working fine now (I'm on laptop as we speak).

    Thanks for your advice anyway.
