Any one broke down due to the "dodgy" fuel?

Just wondered if any one had filled up with the bad unleaded that's filling the news today. Luckily it doesn.t seem to be affecting many of us up north.

Fortunately no, but I use Diesel anyway!:D I never use and never have used supermarkets for fuel, always one of the bigger oil companies e.g. Shell. I realise this gives no guarantee but there's always been a thought in the back of my mind that the supermarkets obtain their fuel from obscure sources and the spot market. So for the sake of maybe 1p/litre I never risk it.
There are standards for fuel but if in this case the fuel is dodgy then that's no consolation to the people affected.

People have to believe whatever they wish.

Why would Shell, for example, sell to Tesco at aprice that their own garages couldn't compete against?

The supermarkets get it from Greenergy, a company which Tesco has a 25% stake in and the only company that produces their 99 Octane Super Unleaded.

They include bioethanol in their fuel as an alternative to other agents added to prevent auto ignition, more environmently friendly etc (see my post in the other thread)
