ram upgrade can i use compatibilty

i have a hp 530 notebook with vista home basic

under system information it says "installed physical memory" 2.00 gb

under system information it says "available physical memory" 626 mb

i need to update the memory vut not sure what i need

can i use compatible ram if so anyone have suggestions please?

    According to the user manual, you can't increase the memory if you already have 2GB installed.

    What problem are you trying to solve?

    Yes as stated above you can't add any more ram onto your processor. You could install a new processor but tbh it'll be cheaper to start again!
    I'd also like to know what issue you are trying to resolve by adding more ram?

    disable windows defender.

    uninstall google toolbar/google update/ie window maximizer unless you need it.

    disable java quickstarter - see speedup sticky

    disable adobe updater using services.msc

    If it's just slow opening web pages (but OK offline), then it's your internet connection or browser settings. If the latter, try another browser (a better one than IE, either Chrome or Firefox).
    And do a cleanup with CCleaner.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
